Crawmerax had huge variety in his attack options, and adds with varied weaknesses and mechanics which combined to make him an excellent ending to The Secret Armory. For Borderlands 2 on the Xbox 360, a GameFAQs message board topic titled 'Sir Hammerlocks Big Game Hunt'. Master Gee actually has unique design and requires a bit of strategy to beat, and Dexiduous is more of an endurance match. Anyone can tell that "Novas" are a cheap cop-out in terms of challenge and design, and simply make Moxxi's weapons all the more necessary. Thus far, Hyperius, Pyro Pete (To a lesser extent), and Voracidous have been reliant on massive and unavoidable AoE damage to challenge players. I still hold out hope that Gearbox gets it together with raid boss designs. None of the current DLCs compare, in my opinion, to the quality of BL1's best DLCs, but they're decent enough in their own rights. If I had to choose one, I'd take the first. The content adds a new zone called Aegrus, as well as new areas to explore. The nail in the coffin for me was the design of Voracidous, who is so close to unbeatable by normal means that most of his kill videos consist of players blasting him to hell with Flame Norfleets before most of the mechanics kick in. Sir Hammerlocks Big Game Hunt is included with the 30 Borderlands 2 Season Pass and will be available for others at 10. Again, not necessarily a bad DLC, but inferior to Scarlett's and to BL1. The 3 chapters go by rather quickly, and seemed to lack depth. I liked the environments and new enemies, but the entire scenario once again felt underutilized. Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt had, to me, the most potential out of all of the DLCs, but also fell short compared to the standards set in BL1. I wouldn't call it bad, but it seemed incomplete compared to the others. While it was entertaining (By far the most hilarious of the DLCs), it fell back on repetitive missions (Literally repeating a mission with an increase in difficulty 3 times) and didn't make a great deal of use of all of the involved characters. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage emulates a lot of the weaknesses which made Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot one of the weaker DLCs in BL1. The pirate-themed areas look great and felt much more expansive and open than the Badass Crater of Badassitude/Aegrus. Large environments, unique enemies, fantastic music, solid story with good humor mixed in, and a farmable loot room are the highlights. And it can be yours for either 9.99/800 MS Points, or as part of the Season Pass. Having played through and beaten all 3 DLCs currently out:Ĭaptain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty is probably the best of them. Sir Hammerlock is definitely the type of DLC we have come to expect.
